Meeting his guide to the area he has moved into the town. The reader is made to wonder why and if they fall in love and create a future together. When stella comes back to where Frederick is in such a state that make her wonder if he will be there for her of if he will run away and not stand by her. I love the way this historical novel is told and how it drags us into the story and how it makes you feel everything that the characters are feeling. I found myself beginning to feel that I was part of the story which is the sign of a good story as it drags everyone into the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a world war 2 story and adversity that the characters have gone through
