I loved the thought and the first impression of this book so much that I had to go out and buy it as soon as it was available! I thought it was very clever to basically have the classic telling of Cinderella through the perspective of mainly one of the ugly stepsisters.
Because the story is so familiar and nostalgic it seems very cool, modern and on-trend to play with the plot and explore different sides to the story as it questions everything that we have ever known!
As an adult, and especially in today's society women look back on the fairy tales they loved as a child and realise that it was all about being rescued by a male strong character whereas this book reinforces female empowerment, something we are seeing more and more in modern tales so fun to see in the retelling of one of old!
