I have seen Megan Miranda's books around a lot at the library and the front tables of book shops etc, but somehow had never picked one up. Having read Such a Quiet Place, I am definitely a convert and will make more of an effort to pick up her books in future.

The story follows Ruby who has just returned to her former home after her release from prison. Despite being found guilty of murdering her neighbours and having been sentenced to 20 years, she has managed to get out in less than 2 due to a technicality in her case. Everyone in the small community where she lives is shocked to see her return - especially her roommate, Harper!

I was gripped by this story straight away, and found the way we are left questioning whether Ruby was guilty or innocent really intriguing. I don't want to say anything that would ruin the plot for others, but lots of things start to unfold once Ruby returns to Hollow's Edge and I was constantly questioning her character and just what she might be capable of - as well as the actions of some of those around her.

This book managed to maintain the tension and keep me guessing throughout, which I always love. I did work out some of what was going on, but this was very much towards the end of the book so it didn't take anything away from my reading experience.

Overall, a really enjoyable creepy read that I would happily recommend to others.
