Lots of secrets and lies to shift through in Megan Miranda's latest read: 'Such a Quiet Place'. I was really excited to read this - for me the atmospheric setting of 'Hollow's Edge' was an immediate hook into wanting to pick up this book.
A community seemingly safe and serene, however a murder from the past lies fragilely under the surface and the cracks are soon forthcoming!
Held back tensions appear, and after a slowly paced first half this book really picks up the pace and you just have to devour each page to set to the secrets and the final truth.
It's fun to read, it's alarming to think about what lies behind the facades of homes and faces in the community; it's oppressive with enough clever twists in the plotting to pack a punch.
I'd recommend this book to people who enjoy thrillers and mysteries set in tight-knit neighbourhoods - but you won't be able to look at your neighbours in the same way after!
