Richard Glossip was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death in 1998, when he was 31. Everybody agrees that he didn't actually kill anyone - he was convicted because of the testimony of the self confessed murderer, Justin Sneed, who was sentenced to life imprisonment.
After nearly twenty years on death row, when all appeals have been refused, his execution is imminent. He has the support of some influential people including the Pope, Helen Prejean (Dead Man Walking) and Richard Branson.
This is a book of outstanding journalism which deserves to win a Pulitzer prize at the very least. Whatever your views are on capital punishment, or maybe you are ambivalent like me, reading this book is guaranteed to make you think again.
Every reader will be left considering Richard Glossip's case and the death penalty laws which still exist in some USA states for a long time after finishing this book.
