A slow start, but it finished on a cliffhanger

This novel is set in the Tudor era and is reminiscent of the Shardlake series, which I have read and enjoyed. It is nicely written, with interesting characters, and I was sorry the first read ended when it did. I wanted to read more.

I like the cover too - definitely one I would pick up in a bookshop.
