This book was well-researched with a lot of work done to make it as realistic as possible and to fit in real historical characters around the plot line to make it all seem more real.
The book was a little long, and I definitely think it could have done with being edited to be shorter. I can imagine for many the length of the book would make it a daunting prospect so they may not pick it up.
There was a wide range of well-written characters with a wealth of background to them. I enjoyed trying to work out how they were all going to interconnect.
The storylines were interesting with the murders, the persecution of catholics and how different people deal with grief.
It was overall an interesting book and I mainly enjoyed reading it.
