firstly, this is the sort of book that would be a great holiday read- unless you are a spelunker!!
It starts of nice and slow while it builds the characters and creates such a realistic bunch of people that makes it so easy to follow.
set firmly in the modern world as the hero is a sort of action blogger who has a director and cameraman who follow and record his exploits for a TV channel.
The hero is flawed-human and the rest of the cast, especially the fallen director are beautifully fleshed.
While either trying to prove or debunk a historical expedition to a lost cave they become a part of the lost history and myth in a plot that is so different and unique, yet full of things we know and love about these kind of stories.
I will not give away the plot as it is so similar, yet with such a unique twist that you do really need to read this brilliant book.
Highly recommended.
