This is a thriller that really keeps you guessing and made me suspicious of pretty much all the characters throughout the whole book.

The Art of Death revolves around solving the murders of an artist/killer who goes by the name, @nonymous, displaying dead bodies as a work of art around various locations in London. The story is told through different viewpoints including the victims, the murderer and then the detective trying to solve the case. All the different views really made this story enjoyable as you get to learn more about all the various characters and did get the slight creeps when reading the lead up to the victims death.

It made me question whether I knew who the killer was and most characters were put on my suspect list at some point during the storyline. This was done really well as the characters had various suspicious things going for them. However did correctly guess who the killer was and therefore didn't quite have the shock value when it was revealed.

Where I thought it fell a bit flat is getting know more about the characters. We gain a bit of backstory on the detective and this does explore some of her relationships but they didn’t really go anywhere. From the murderers POV this helps to gain more understanding of how he lured his victims although still not sure if I understand his motive for it all.

Overall it was a good unique easy read which keeps you on your toes and although I thought the development of characters fell slightly short, they were likable and so hoping this isn’t a standalone as there is a lot more to explore!
