The Art of Death is the first book by David Fennell and I sincerely hope there are more to come! Crime thrillers are probably my favourite genre of book and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the way that the chapters were written from the perspective of a wide variety of characters, from DI Grace Archer who is in charge of the investigation, to some of the victims, and then the killer himself. This added a really interesting angle to the book and gave a good insight into each of the characters. I found it fascinating to read how the killer selected his victims, and the use of (or warning against) social media was particularly eye opening.
The size of the book surprised me at first, and I was concerned it might take a while to get going, but the opposite was true and I finished the book in less than 24 hours.
