Only had a chance to read the first 3/4 chapters but the writer has got me hooked, just after the first page. There are all sorts of connotations/possibilities awaiting; female police officer stepping into the shoes of the officer she's had to investigate and thus leading to his dismissal (and incarceration?); a serial killer and his first 3 victims, with others already being lined up, including (possibly) the police officer herself; and not to mention the potential problems arising from her arrest of her predecessor!, whose shoes she is destined to have to fill.
I really like the characterisation of (a) the killer and (b) the 'heroine' police officer who I forgot to mention is seeking to justify herself having lost her police officer father to a gangland murder. There are just so many possibilities and this could be a very long read!
