Self help or how I helped myself?

After reading the blurb I was looking forward to reading this story. Ordered the book through the library service, book arrived, took it home, settled down for a good read ... comfy chair, cup of tea, packet of biscuits ... then found out I was pretty much reading an autobiography. Not really my thing but I tried to carry on and give the writer a fair crack ... didn’t get very far.

This seemed to be a woe is me story which I quickly got bored with. We’ve all been through stuff but far from being an uplifting ‘you could try this’ type of self help book the author had access to a lot of people who could massage her ego and help her out. She seemed to be surrounded by friends and family who were sympathetic ... truly a lucky and enviable position to be in. I hope she showed gratitude for all the support she got.

Hopefully her life will retain it’s balance from now on. Good luck and good wishes.
