I wasn't a fan of this book. I can see how it would be appealing to others, with Shakespearean-type characters, battles, and dark humour, but it just wasn't for me.
The characters were well-written and described well enough; I just had the problem of liking them. I found that I hated many of them from the beginning and hated almost all at the end. Which is really saying something considering the amount of characters included!
I usually like short and snappy chapters, although in this book they often stopped the plot from flowing smoothly and as a result made the story itself hard to follow.
The writing style was interesting and the novel was written beautifully, but the pacing was slow and as a result I found it hard to get into and even harder to finish.
