Robin Davis, 33 years old, hasn't spoken to her family in six years. She is a therapist, but suffers from panic attacks. She reluctantly returns home after her father Greg, her step mother Tara and her step mother’s daughter were attacked and shot. Her family has a secret. It may have put them all in danger. Can she trust them?

“The bad daughter” is a psychological thriller by bestselling author Joy Fielding.

My opinion:
The book consists of 44 chapters. The story is told from Robin’s perspective.

The writing style is fluent and easy to read. I didn’t find it difficult to get into the story but it didn’t grip me from the first page. The plot is rather original. However it couldn’t fully convince me. The twists are too predictable.

The main protagonist is an unusual character. Yet, she’s fascinating. The other characters are a bit poor, though.

The cover caught my attention. I also liked the title of the book.

Overall: I think “The bad daughter” by Joy Fielding isn’t a must-read. It couldn’t blow me away.
