I'm genuinely so glad I got to read this first impressions extract. This book seems to be exactly the kind of thing I'd enjoy and whilst I'll admit I don't know much about the history of the time, the author does a wonderful job at letting the reader know just enough so that they're able to follow the story and not feel lost.
I adore the character of Attica. She's funny, witty, strong and stubborn and it's a joy to read from her perspective. The side characters (even the ones that are only very briefly introduced) are fleshed out enough to feel real and add a sense of depth to the world.
I'm so keen to see where this goes and honestly can't wait to get to read the rest.
