I always love dark academia style books; especially when they are mixed with magic. This gives me a very dark adult version of Harry Potter perhaps, entirely worth the read.

The characters are really likeable and are described unbelievably well making it easy to bond and route for them to do well and succeed. I sometimes struggle imagining characters unless they are described well; and this author did that perfectly. There’s a range of characters which is also wonderful.
It’s a beautiful written book - the plot is wonderful, characters and scenery is described well so you can picture it all easily. I’d love if there was a sequel or a spin-off perhaps to this book, it would be entirely worth the read.
