First of all I have to thank Readers First and Corvus Books for sending me this book.
The cover is really beautiful and adds to the mystic of the story.
The main character and narrator of the story is Natasha Rothwell. Although no actual dates are given it appears that she is talking in the present day about what happened the Summer she turned fifteen.
At that time she was living in a small seaside town with her mother, who took boarders in over the Summer months.
Natasha has psychic abilities and that Summer strange dancing lights appear over the town and she thinks that they are foretelling doom on the town.
The story is so beautifully written and so atmospheric. The writing is so descriptive that I felt like I was there, living Natasha's story. The author has captured perfectly all the insecurities of a teenage girl on the edge of womanhood.
I really enjoyed this book and think it would be a good one to read on holiday. It has the right amount of intrigue to keep the reader wanting to find out more, and Natasha is such a captivating and complex character that I needed to know what her story was.
I'm so pleased I got the chance to read this and will be reading more of this author's books.
