"The cancer ladies' running club" is a really good book. It tells the story of Keira whose life is turned upside down when she is diagnosed with breast cancer but is written in a sort of light-hearted way, which makes it more accessible. The story follows her treatment and the side effects that come with it, aswell as depicting how her relationships with her family, friends and colleagues change after she is diagnosed. Kiera by chance comes across Tamsin and together they form a running club. I like how the book is very positive and looks at what people can achieve in very difficult circumstances. Aswell as the cancer storyline there is a theme around Keira's business "Wishwell's". Her colleagues seem to be undermining Keira and I actually found their behaviour so appalling that it made me so cross I almost didn't enjoy some bits of the book! Overall I like that this book challenges the fear many people have about the disease and even saying the word "cancer".
