First and foremost this book is beautifully written, and those who have experienced cancer themselves or had a loved one who has will know it's also realistic. However, it manages to balance the realism with an uplifting feeling which runs throughout. This book reels you in making it very hard to put down, one must exercise restraint to not read it all in one go. There are some sad moments that I think only push the book's sense of real-life further, which can be frustrating as it's written about a frustrating situation which no person wants to go through but many will. If i was Kiera I'd be glad to have friends like Amma and Sian. It's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster as you feel Kiera's highs and lows, her pain but also moments of relief, and a new kind of happiness. It is most definitely worth reading and I'd highly recommend this book.
