Keira truly is special to have so many people in her life, and on her side. Her zany family life and passion for her business help steer her through a time in her life she did not see coming.

There are so many characters in this book: family, friends, colleagues, fellow sufferers, hospital staff .... it's hard to keep track of them all. The story jumps from treatment to family to workplace, with Keira trying to keep everything on track whilst coping with horrible side-effects, recuperation and being a friend to those she meets along the way. Finding a group of friends and a motivation to help others gives her some much-needed headspace and kinship.

Some aspects of the diagnosis, treatment and steps onwards are quite stark, most people know someone affected by breast cancer. Everyone is different, unique in their circumstances, it's impossible to be critical of that situation.
