It has taken me a few days to write my review for The Cancer Ladies Running Club purely because I wanted it to be perfect, just like the book!

This is a story extremely close to home and at some points I struggled and had to take a break. This has nothing to do with the book as a whole!

When Keira first receives her breast cancer diagnosis, she never expects to end up joining a running group with three women she’s only just met. Totally blind-sided, all she can think about is how she doesn’t want to tell her family or step back from work. Nor does she want to be part of a group of fellow cancer patients. Cancer is not her club.

And yet it’s running – hot, sweaty, lycra-clad running in the company of brilliant, funny women all going through treatment – that unexpectedly gives Keira the hope she so urgently needs.

I felt for Keira from the first page and kept everything crossed for a positive outcome. As soon as Tamsin came into Keira's life I just knew that they were going to have a wild adventure together at that they certainly did!

The reason I struggled with parts of this book is because the way Kiera was treated by her colleagues made me so angry! No one every deserves to be treated that way at the best of times!

Overall I found the story extremely uplifting and empowering, seeing the strength women get from each others makes me feel like there is kindness all around, especially when we least expect it.

I would recommend this book to anyone but I also feel that people who are in similar situation to Keira's should read this and take hope away from it. There is so much to learn from this book and it is so personal.
