The Captive (which, excuse the play on words, is exceptionally captivating) is a brilliant, high concept and intensely gripping thriller. It is extremely gripping and it keeps you guessing right until the very end, through every twist and turn!!! It is such an original novel with an ingenious story line/plot, which is emotional and thrilling. It is beautifully realised through Deborah's creative, engaging and downright fabulous writing style and technique. I raced through this book and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, my heart was in my throat right until the very end. This is a true page turner. You won't want to put it down until you figure out and unravel the mystery. But from the thought-provoking premise to the riveting final chapters, this one will keep your mind racing even after you have closed the book at the end!!!
