I always love crime books - and this one certainly highlights why. It’s a book with an entirely different concept to other crime books, and it’s an incredibly interesting idea. The theme of the book centres around the idea of individuals who have committed crimes having to live in cages in the houses of the people who the crime most affected - in this case, Jem lives with Hannah after his conviction for murdering Hannah’s husband. The idea is very unique, and i found that very interesting. Certainly a book that I don’t think I’ve ever read something similar too.

I enjoy the characters, the main characters are very interesting and I enjoyed seeing how they develop and change as the book goes on.

There are certain things that the author mentions and makes you think - oh I can see where this is going now you have mentioned that. The ending may be a little far fetched, however I enjoyed it none the less.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
