I have enjoyed this book so much, just wanted to read and read. Don’t want to leave spoilers but Saffron (Saffy) went up into the attic and what she found hidden there changed the way she thought of her family, after a big row with her father because he couldn’t bring himself to tell her what she wanted to know she decided she would run away, she was certain her friend Tom would put her up in his flat, everybody has a sofa, right?
Tom said no and advised her that she should go home and talk but Saffron wasn’t doing that.
She ended up sleeping underneath the bridge with other homeless people including one she had always known as crazy Maggie, the way the homeless is written about has really opened my eyes, always felt awful for them and given what I could but this went to a different level.
I won’t write anything else or will give away a big spoiler but suffice to say I would really recommend you reading this one
