I enjoyed this much more than I expected. At the very beginning I nearly gave up thinking it was aimed at the teen market and that I wouldn't "get it". How wrong I was! It was easy to read and I liked how the chapters alternated between Saffron and Tom. Saffron wasn't always a very likeable character but as a Mum of mid-teen daughters there were many parts of her personality I recognised and as a step-mum I was also interested in the character of Melanie. I liked how the book looked into the stories of some of the homeless characters and it was enlightening to read and think about how they had found themselves in that situation, particularly William. I found myself thinking a lot about his situation and how easy someone's life can be turned upside down. I liked the cover and book title too. Would definitely recommend and encourage my teenage daughters to read too.
