This is an extremely powerful and thought provoking ya story. After finishing this book I am very glad I took the time to read this very unique tale. The story is told of Tumi and Thandiwe who the tale flicks between. The transition between the modern day and the 70s is handled extremely well and makes for a great story. Tumi is an aspiring swimmer, albino and is trying to find out about his Grandma Thandiwe's past. We learn of her difficult past as the story continues. The story is extremely emotional and hard to read at times but you gain great empathy as the story progresses. The bond between the two grows as their difficult pasts bond them. Highly recommended as a read and will be passing on to my friends
