Namely, the characters, the story writing, Holly Black’s ability to place you deep into the land of the fae made this such a clever, fantastic book that I adored. The combination of these elements makes it extremely satisfying to read.

It’s deliciously dark and twisted and so, so good. The writing is wonderful, Black creates a vivid world and a story that gripped me from the very start.

The characters, though all not very likeable, were extremely intriguing, built from many fascinating layers that were so fun to explore.

Fairies and goblins are a couple of my favourite fantasy creatures to read about and there are so many books out there about them already that I love so much, yet I found this one to be the absolute best and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is so original and the world is fantastic... I was stunned at how well put together the plot and characters were; Holly did it in a way like no other.

The writing style is ever so whimsical and has a seemingly lyrical tone to it which makes the story so beautiful.

This book took no getting used to, I was drawn into the world is such a quick manner and engulfed in the universe. It seemed as though I was almost in the area itself.

Also I can’t believe THAT happened in the middle (no spoilers, but if you know, then you know!)

Would definately recommend, 5/5.
