I absolutely loved this book I couldn’t put it down once I started reading!!!
I don't usually read Fantasy novels as it isn't really a genre I gravitate towards so I was a little unsure if I'd enjoy it but I ended up loving it! Longing for a sequel!
This book endeavours into the hierarchy and politics of the faerie world and this is a strong theme throughout however it also includes underlying stories of love, family and relationships.
All the characters are so well written. I loved the main character, Jude and how fierce and feisty she is. Prince Cardan and his friends aren't the nicest people to say the least and the way she stands up for herself against them is amazing. I love an empowering female protagonist in a book. Locke, He betrayed me and that’s all I’m going to say!
I also really liked the development of the faerie world and the blend between it and the the real world. It was a bit confusing at first and hard to get used to but I understood it all by the end.
This is my first read by Holly Black and I must say I am massively impressed! I really hope she writes a sequel because I absolutely loved it!!! :)
