... as it's set a country which I have visited and love. It's a crime novel, which is my favorite genre. But, I'm sorry, this first impression did not grab me.
I really like the cover, but I don't like any of the characters so far. Maybe I'm not meant to. I would have appreciated much more detailed description of the area in which the book is set which would let me know that it was Australia, and not anywhere else in the southern hemisphere, but maybe that comes later.
I really would be interested to learn about the previous relationship between Gemma and Rose whilst they were at school, as I am sure there are lots of secrets between the two of them which will be revealed later in the book. But, based on this first impression, I am not sure I am interested enough to buy the book to find out.
