I loved this book.
The storyline centres around defense lawyer Dan Grant, assisted by his investigator Jayne Brett, who is defending his client Peter Box against the alleged murder of Lizzie Barnsley along a dark canal. However Box is refusing to talk which is not helping, and the case is confused further when Grants boss ( who is dying if cancer) tells him that he believes his most famous victory may actually have been guilty.
The book is set over the length of a court case, and moves along at a great pace. The interplay between the main characters is really good and they all feel nicely rounded and believable.
There are twists, but these are not so shocking as to jar with the rest of the plot, they flow believably.
I have not read anything by this author before, but would definitely look out for more books by him.
