"Dinner List" by Rebecca Serle is a contemporary woman's fiction novel that sadly I found slow and dare I say, boring.
It's Sabrina's 30th birthday and at a fantasy dinner party in her honour are five people she would always have wanted to invite if given the chance - Audrey Hepburn, her ex-fiancé Tobias, her estranged father Robert, her ex-professor Conrad and best friend Jessica.
I didn't quite 'get' the aim of the story and although very easy to read and quick with short chapters, I just lost interest very soon due to having no empathy for Sabrina at all and there being little or no character development at all on offer.
I'd be hard pushed to recommend this book to any of my fellow readers (although a younger female audience may appreciate more) and sadly will not be reading anything further by this author in the future.
