Once again Micheal Ridpath has written a thriller which is engaging and one you do not want to put down! As a history lover I enjoyed the book being set in the Cold War period and stayed true to the nature of the time by having lots of mystery and suspense throughout, not to mention the leanings of socialist theory. Revisiting the places once been before in Europe we see the emotions Emma goes through before the Second World War when her husband was in the diplomatic service. The synopsis being a great way to lure me into the book it did not disappoint and had many twists and turns throughout - anyone who loves a good mystery thriller novel will thoroughly enjoy this book. By the end of the book you will really feel a connection has been made with the various characters and is a book that will stay with you after reading.
