This book is a fast-paced and follows two separate times in different years. The plot doesn't make me feel as if the main characters are in any danger, so from that it appears to be very predictable and slightly dull.

The characters are engaging enough to sustain interest, although the pacing is fast enough to keep you reading until the end without any worry of a stopping point.

It's a good read, just a little light on the thriller elements it's sold on. The family relationships, particularly in the 1979 timeline are well crafted, and it really draws you in and takes you right to the heart of pre-war Europe.

I would recommend this to fans of the crime genre and if you enjoy reading about characters on the run and a new, refreshing tale that is unique. This genre is overdone, but don't let that put you off reading this book as it is quite good and thrilling.
