This book proved to be quite a page turner because once I started this book I just had to find out the outcome and spent an enjoyable couple of hours curled up until I did. The book jumps between two time periods a young Emma newly married in 1936 and an elderly lady nearing the end of her life with her grandson Phil. There was a lot of characters from the 1936 era and I did have to try and recall where they fitted in the storyline . Loved the plot and characters of the story although I did find it a bit far fetched at times . Emma makes a lovely version of a female James Bond with Phil a naive chauffeur on their European road trip. The concept and family values of this plot were unique and I have never read a similar book so hats off to the author on his original and novel idea . The cover depicts the time period well although does tend to scream female and romance .
