An incredibly heart-warming and heart-breaking start

I was instantly pulled into this story and felt full of empathy for Mafalda. Her narration is honest and heart-breaking. It is a book that I know will break my soul but I am one hundred percent hooked. I love Mafalda and her list of things that she will miss. I feel for her and the moment when her eyesight starts to go towards the end of this peek and she spills the drink broke me a little. I am fascinated by this book and would very much like to continue. I think the narration is absolutely wonderful.
