What a wonderful cover which completely ties in with the subject matter of the book. I like the muted colour scheme too. This kind of novel always appeals to me as it tells of a triumph (hopefully!) over adversity. Somehow when it is about a young child, I feel the need to read the story as not having children I know so little about them. I have my own medical issues and can relate to the book, albeit my sight is good.
I've also made a concerted effort this year (I read more than 300+ most years) to read more translations of foreign writing so this falls very nicely into that category. You can often get a different view from a non-English writer which is always refreshing when there are so many bland books out there!
I would love to win this one.
