Having stared at a number of optometry boards I was drawn to the cover of this book instantly.
The story is the heart breaking tale of a 9 year old girl who receives the devastating news that she is going to lose her sight quite rapidly. The authors insight in to the difficulty and struggle that this young girl faces is well executed and perfectly balanced. The innocence and faith of a child telling the story of this struggle and the gradual realisation as the sight deterioration progresses had me in tears throughout.
No stranger to a heartbreaking book that has tears trickling during a busy train ride, I found this story both difficult and heart warming. It’s an insightful read and I would recommend to anyone from any age group.
