I adored this story.
It just gave me all the feels! I loved the narrative, the setting, the characters and the plot.
Mim is such a cute character, she wants to be smart and she dreams of being a lady, but having been sold to a Circus and educated by a “pig faced lady” she lacks in knowledge and understanding of the world. She’s both sweet and naive.
Alex is everything you want in this sort of romance story, he’s hilariously inept at admitting his feelings towards Mim, but I was rooting for him throughout because he cares for her so much.
Being set in a traveling circus in the past you know it’s bound to be full of some interesting and suspicious characters.
