This sounds brilliant
The cover immediately caught my eye as it is so beautiful and intricate that you don't notice the hangman's noose at first. Once I saw the noose, it was all I could see and it gave me goosebumps.
I love stories of witchcraft in England, such as Widdershins by Helen Steadman and The Witchfinder's Sister by Beth Underdown so as soon as I read the blurb, I knew that I had to read this book. The fact that one of the main characters is 17 years old and pregnant for the fourth time drew a huge gasp from me and I longed to find out more about her and why her babies keep dying. With the suspicion of witchcraft casting its spell on me I simply can't wait to read this.
