I really wanted to give this book 3.5 stars as it was a easy light read, the storyline was easy to follow and perfect for a summer read.
The ending I felt was easily predicted but it was a good ending, the characters were likeable and very strongly portrayed,
There was nothing that made you have to think too much or make you get lost in the plot, there was no gripping twists which is why I didn’t give it a higher rating.
This book gave a good ideal of life in the period it is set in - it had all the issues from that time and showed how much shame and guilt women particularly felt that they would bring on to themselves and their families for some things that are not always in their control
