The flat share was a perfect read for anyone looking for a little light hearted escapism.

While the plot was a little predictable, this book lives up to its colourful, lighthearted cover. It does cover some interesting themes around toxic masculinity which add weight to it in places and are represented well with believable, tangible characters.

I enjoyed watching the main characters relationship unfolding and developing. The idea that we can fall in love before seeing each other, in a world that centres around aesthetics, is frankly quite refreshing.

Leon is a very lovable character and I also enjoyed how this book highlight the challenges young people face if their job requires them to work nights (particularly in nursing). Sustaining a relationship in this profession must be challenging.

On a final note. I just hope they change the mattress more than every 7 years..
