4.5 stars rounded down. I really really really really liked this story line. I really really really really did not like soooooo much of it being devoted to the narcissistic ex-boyfriend. I appreciate that they needed to let her work through that herself but we spent too long on the subject for my liking. I'm not sure how others felt about it but I spent too long in a relationship with a narcissist and I didn't like having to read about it "from the outside" so much in this novel. Personal preference from personal bad life experience.

That being said, there were so many great characters. I loved Gerty and Richie and Leon. I wished Mo had more development or description - for whatever reason I just pictured a really flimsy sort of man. Men don't have to be "tough and manly" blah blah blah, and I KNOW that, but like, he's dating Gerty. He's gotta be quite tough for that but I just kept getting the feeling he was a bit of a pushover but I don't think he could have been so I wish more time was spent describing him more or giving him more scenes. I couldn't get an image of him in my head. To be fair, the image I have in my head of Gerty is Anne Lister from the BBC series Gentleman Jack - because of the tough as nails image and curly barrister wig like hair. I don't know, it made me chuckle, though. Rachel is definitely just a space filler. She wasn't super necessary but it was nice to have her there.

All in all, it's a quick read that I've really been looking forward to and I really enjoyed it.
