My first impression was that this book could turn out to be a Da Vinci Code- style treasure hunt through the world of rare books and forgers, to find the killer. If so, this would be an exciting read.
I’m not sure I warmed to the narrator from the First Look extract, but perhaps we’re not supposed to, as there are clues early on which lead us to be suspicious of his character and maybe even his motives for being in a relationship with Meghan. The extract ended with me having several questions in my mind, leading me to want to continue reading, in the hope of finding answers. The author’s style suited the subject material. Good, rich vocabulary and metaphors, in keeping with references to the ‘classics’ of the book world. I liked it....so far.
