Forging a fast phased thriller
The book forger’s missing severed hands draw you in to this eloquent thriller.
The protagonist Will is a forging obsessive righteous book zealot. When the brother of his ginger lady friend is murdered, he is drawn in to the mystery. Who would kill this hermit? Why did they destroy the highly valuable signed books/manuscripts?
The first person perspective works well, quickly running through the backwash of murder. Fears, white lies and misconceptions reflect well off Will’s sharp wit. Will offers a quirky perspective and reminds me of a friend, introducing some humour to offset the gruesome/serious parts.
A waspishly quick and super readable extract, just the ticket for a winters evening by the fire.
