This book was AMAZING!
It follows a teenage girl called Cassie and her search to find out about her past. She was adopted at a young age and it turns out she was separated from her older sister who was 7 at the time and not adopted with her. At the beginning, Cassie didnt realise she had an older sister and she wanted to find her birth mother. Things were made complicated by the fact that her adoptive parents didnt want to tell her about her sister and tried to hide it for her. Cassie confided in her younger sister, Erin, throughout the story which shows the connection and bonds that siblings often have and what she could have had with her other sister if they had been together over the years.
Cassie finds her older sister and has secret meetings with her behind her parents back after a social media hunt reunited them. Things didnt go as smoothly as thought and a few incidents occurred which lead to her parents finding out.
The book shows that you dont have to be blood related to care and love someone like family. Cassie was loved the same amount as Erin even though she wasnt her parents blood child. The forgotten sister in this was Cassies older sister who in the end, was not forgotten anymore and being supported through her early stages of motherhood.
This was a brilliant read, full of emotion which was gripping the whole way throughout.
