After reading Stacey Halls first book The Familiars ad instantly put this book on my christmas wish list so received a copy for christmas.
I was drawn in from the first chapter and needed to read on. The story is heartbreaking that a women would be forced to give up her child into the care of a foundling home.
I loved hearing about London during these times the fact they refer to areas on London such as Southwark being in the country with fields of animals seems unbelievable when we think of London today it has made me want to learn more about how London looked in the 1700s, I also want to visit the foundling museum as soon as we are able.
I loved hearing the story from both points of view i would have loved to hear a little more about the life of each of the main characters that led them to where they found themselves at the start of the story.
I cant wait for Stacey's next book but sadly will have to as it is not published until June 2021 so will add it to my wish list.
