disappointing
id like to start of is this book is right up my street I like reading historical romance fiction and don't mind reading war time books this book is set in 1941 about a trainee nurse called April who loses her father. I wanted to feel a connection with the main character to get into he book but unfortunately that wasn't there. I think this is to do with the writing because I couldn't get passed a few pages and had to put it it down.
some of it is a bit slow I don't know if that's because I'm an impatient reader but I did try and give to another glow. my sister read it and didn't complain.
I enjoyed the ending to this book a little less due to the title given away the ending: although, I do realise that as you progress through the book, you could have worked it out anyway. Even if this isn’t your usual genre I would recommend giving it a go but this kind of saga isn't for me
