I was drawn in by the beautiful, evocative, atmospheric cover of this book, it is such a lovely thing. I have also read another book by this author (All The Missing Girls) which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I had high hopes for this newest release.

This is a thriller where the past collides furiously with the present, leaving you wondering which characters to suspect and which of their truths to believe. I liked Olivia, the main character, whose pain, despair and desperate attempts to run from a difficult past was very well-drawn. I also enjoyed the writing style as the author included media reports, emails and interviews to build the narrative.

My only real criticism was that I felt the ending was rather rushed and somewhat clumsy in its attempts to bring a conclusion. That being said I will definitely look forward to more of this author.
