Arden went missing when she was 6 after she got swept away by a storm whilst sleepwalking. After 3 days she was found alive and stuck in a storm grate. The case attracted a lot of media attention and led to many book deals for Arden's mother.
We get to follow Arden 14 years on. She's had to change her name and move states to escape the unwanted attention, but this all changes when she discovers the body of a dead man in her front garden!

I thought that the plot sounded like the making of a fast-paced thriller, but it actually revealed itself as being a pretty slow-burner.
Slow-paced books don't usually bother me, but the pacing felt off in this. I felt that it lacked suspense right until the very end, which was too late to have a full impact upon the reader. Yes, the twist/reveal was unexpected for me, so it was nice to be surprised for once as I seem to be the queen of predicting things(!), but the lack of tension dampened the reveal!

It has a solid plot, but it needed to be faster-paced with a bit more suspense thrown in the mix. If you're a fan of slower thrillers then this could be perfect as a summer beach for you, as it's being released in July!
