I would like to thank ReadersFirst for gifting me the hardcover copy of this book for an honest review!

This book had something that other thrillers I have read recently didn't. There wasn't anything that jumped out at me that brought the books rating down. I was impressed in the way that Megan Miranda was able to use her writing so that Olivia's (main character) trauma was a constant theme. It was realistic that Olivia would be scarred by her past and how it had shaped her life. It made the reader question her reliability because she couldn't be sure in herself. I loved how much I had to question every character and because Olivia had memory gaps we were putting the story together with her. This was a really great wait to write a thriller because it felt like every page there was some sort of tension.

I have to say that I didn't guess the ending at all. There was no way in my mind that what happened was in any way predictable. Usually I can sort of guess what may happen or even have an idea but that ending just blew me away. I also loved all the reports that came at the end of each chapter as it gave us a glimpse into the past without having to read pages and pages of it but still feeling like we understood what happened in the past through the reports. This was my first book by Megan Miranda and I definitely want to read more of her books now.
